Patong Restaurants and Sea Food

A real attraction of the island are the food courts.

There are hundreds catering to almost any taste including plenty of seafood restaurants in Patong and elsewhere on the island. Grilled fish, lobster, crab, prawn, mussels, oysters, comes fresh onto the table. 

Exotic food is offered along Bangla Road as street food in form of fried cockroaches, grilled crickets and other strange beetles. Or what about some kebab, salad, steak or a schnitzel restaurant? 

Where is the problem? Everyone closes around 11 pm. That's a real lazy picture, although the density of the places can hardly be beaten even by Hong Kong standard there is no much interest to serve the tourists after 11 pm, people here are not Chinese they have no much work in mind. 

Which is somehow irrational considering the rental fees they have to pay which can only be maximized by opening hours. Since their work only starts in the late afternoon anyway why not leave the shop open and serve he tourists? This are some of the things anyone with open eyes will stumble upon in Thailand, nothing is really thought through.

Great Thai food in Phuket.

They have excellent food on the island, no question but when the people get hungry the close the store. I have seen this so many times in Thailand they always do the opposite forward think people are doing. It is not clear to me why but just by watching the behavior it's strange anyway.
It is the amazing richness of food available which is amazing, e.g. there is great Egyptian cuisine at Patong, excellent Russian dishes not far away, Japanese stuff of the whole range, not just Sushi, at the Jungceylon Mall, Korean cooking not far off, also MacDonalds and KFC etc. 

Several food courts are in the back of Bangla Road with everything the Andaman Sea is good for such as some delicate barracuda steaks and similar, crabs, fishes BBQ, grilled, fried, broiled, boiled as a soup and so on. If you soaked enough sun, got a sunburn thats the time to stay off the beach a go on a culinary adventure trip, you will be delighted.

Phuket is very diverse on culinary delights it is possible to stay on the island for 2 weeks, just focused on Patong and eat a meal from a different country and material every day.
